This is an exceptionally promising pairing of two spectacular and highly distinctive Nepenthes. The N. veitchii ‘Geoff Wong’ parent is remarkable for its enormous, beautifully flared peristome, strong striping, and classic veitchii form. The N. villosa ‘Kinabalu’ parent contributes the massive peristome ribs, pronounced dentation, dense indumentum, and wonderfully robust pitcher morphology for which this iconic species is renowned.

I expect the broad, flared peristome of veitchii to combine with the heavy ribbing and teeth of villosa, potentially producing pitchers with extraordinarily substantial and architectural peristomes. Rich reds, bronzes, yellows, and contrasting peristome striping are also possibilities as these plants mature.

Just as importantly, these plants are grown from seed rather than cloned material. Every seedling is therefore a genetically unique individual, and no two plants should develop exactly alike. For collectors who enjoy selecting exceptional individuals from a grex and watching an entirely new phenotype develop, this is exactly the kind of cross that makes growing Nepenthes from seed so rewarding.

Only a very small number of seedlings from this cross are available.  Size: 2-3 cm, but well-established.

With villosa as one parent, I recommend growing these plants under highland to intermediate conditions, with bright light, good air movement, high humidity, and a substantial nighttime temperature drop.
