This exciting new hybrid brings together two exceptional parent plants: my most vigorous N. lowii from Gunung Mulu and a superb female N. x kinabaluensis with especially strong N. villosa characteristics.
 
The result is a rare and highly promising combination of rugged growth, highland vigor, and extraordinary genetic potential. The female parent contributes the heavy texture, bold form, and dramatic influence of N. villosa, while the N. lowii parent adds robustness, distinctive pitcher structure, and the unmistakable character for which the species is famous.
 
Even at the seedling stage, the lower pitchers are already developing striking dark purple coloration, offering an early indication of the dramatic appearance these plants will achieve as they mature.  Moreover, each seedling is genetically unique, making this an opportunity to grow something genuinely individual from a cross with outstanding parents. I expect these plants to develop increasingly impressive pitchers with age, with the potential for strong texture, powerful coloration, and unusual lowii-influenced upper pitchers.  A special hybrid for serious Nepenthes growers!
